Cliff Head – Wagoe Chalets
Although it was our plan to push north as quickly as possible, we’ve found the kids won’t make it quite as far as we’d like to, so today instead of pushing on through to Denham, we’ve stopped a little short of Kalbarri instead.
Due to unpardonable forgetfulness we pushed of early from Cliff Head, as someone *cough cough* had neglected to make sure breakfast foods were available for consumption.
Prize winning pies were purchased in Dongara for an unusual, yet extremely tasty morning meal.
(Brett says 3/06/13 that this pie holds its place as best pie so far on the trip.)
The landscape changed throughout the day from sandy, rocky plains to hilly, clayey farm land. Passing through Greenough of the wind blown trees too.
We faced a bit of rain too, and had two times of heavy downpour. The first of these was in Geraldton when waiting to go into IGA for some groceries. We ended up putting our recently purchased rain coats to good use. The second was on the road, and was almost reason to pull over, so hard to see where we were going.
A few road trains have been spotted, but nothing worthy of knocking road kill from the top spot on the kids’ list of things to be excited about seeing.
Time to go and work out tomorrow’s itinerary. Soon we’ll be slowing down and have more time to write and share photos. See you then!
